Everything Malphas does. All of it on your PC.
Six parts, one app. Each one is shown below doing its job. What each part does is public; how it does it stays with us while our patent application is prepared.
Sandbox In testing
Malphas is being built to run every app in a sandbox, so that what an app saves goes through the sandbox and gets checked before it reaches your files.
It isn’t a wall yet: in our tests, a sandboxed app can still read your files, and some ways of writing get past it. The record, coming soon, is meant to show what it tried.
Link protection In testing
Every page you open is checked on your PC before it loads.
It looks for pages pretending to be a site you trust, and stops the ones it catches with a plain explanation. From our testing: paypal.tk scored 0.90 as a PayPal lookalike and was stopped before it loaded.
Startup cleanup In testing
Malware often plants itself in startup so it comes back after every restart.
Malphas watches the places programs use to start with Windows and points out the ones that don’t belong. Removing them automatically is still being tested.
Broker In testing
When an app wants your files or the internet, the broker decides whether that fits what the app is for.
The goal is that the broker decides what each app may do (save to your files, start with Windows, use the network) and writes down why. It isn’t there yet: in our tests, a program nobody could vouch for could still read a document, and a file it saved reached Documents after a scan.
The record Coming soon
Everything Malphas does is written down in plain words.
What ran, what it tried, what Malphas did about it and why. The record will stay on your PC, and you’ll be able to read it any time in the app.
Conductor Coming soon
Press a shortcut and ask about anything on your screen.
A small box opens over whatever you’re looking at. Conductor reads what’s on the screen, the text and the links inside it, checks it on your PC and answers in plain words.
